Review: The Dead XIII + Doyle (Ex-Misfits) at The Fleece

Written by Editor, Natalie Wardle.

The 2nd of April marked The Misfits legend Doyle’s return to the U.K. stage – and what a comeback it was, with support from rad high octane Northern glam goths The Dead XIII plus more unsigned talent…  THE DEAD XIII are set to continue their momentous success across the UK, with their latest release Dark Days.

Doyle’s riffs and his muscles could cut glass, and his alpha front-man Alex Story was every inch a young Alice Cooper. Throwing gangsta quips like poison bread at pigeons. Annoyed at their reluctance to mosh, Story referred to the crowd as ‘Cavemen English’ and introduced every song as ”it’s a lovesong… and you can dance if you want to” which really pissed some bros off. Who obviously didn’t have a sense of humour (oh well bugger off then-and leave more space for me to shoulder dance dickheads). Anyway regardless he soon whipped them into an assaulted frenzy as he encouraged participants to touch his body to the love songs, I would of if he asked me.
